History of Thuja
The Tree of Life has earned its nickname from traditional wellness practices across cultures. Its name is derived from the Greek word “thuo,” meaning “to sacrifice,” as the wood was ceremonially burned as a sacrifice to the gods. Its leaves, wood, sap and oils have been used in various applications by the Chinese, Native Canadians, American Indians, and in Ayurveda. The Ojibwa people in particular revered the tree as sacred and considered it a gift of nature.
